Travel: No The Defense & Civilian Sector of SAIC is currently seeking an OCONUS Field Engineer to support its network-focused operations. Jub Duties: The candidate will provide systems engineering and networking support to programs and capabilities fielded and sustained OCONUS with an evolving integration roadmap. Support a complex multi-user wired and wireless network. Provide network architecture, software, information assurance, line-of-sight analysis and interoperability standard implementation support of deployed systems. Configuring and testing software/hardware installations, and troubleshooting and verification of connectivity across platforms is required. Support configuration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of networks that provide full motion video, system meta-data, and other sensor connectivity to command and control assets in operation centers. Provide real-world analysis and feedback on new technology as fielded. Maintain technical expertise in all areas of hardware (routers, switches, encoders, decoders, nodes, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.) and software interconnection. The candidate may be required to assist with the movement and installation of capabilities inside and outside of Forward Operating Bases (FOBs). Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of experience, four (4) years of experience in lieu of degree Required Certifications: DoD 8570.01-Manual Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or higher. Required Security Clearance: Must have an active Secret clearance Desired Experience: Experience supporting complex multi-user/asset networks Experience with leading hardware/software test bench efforts Experience with command and control (C2) hardware/software troubleshooting Experience working in combat zones Experience with directly supporting base defense or combined joint operations center Experience with RF link planning tool design and implementation
