As our global footprint continues to grow, we are looking for a Field Engineer to execute the timely completion of assigned Inspections at our prestigious Manufacturing Clients facilities to join our team in Dubai (UAE). What youâll learn & achieve:: As a UL Field Engineer, after an initial training with our technical experts, you will be conducting various product, device, process, system and material inspections at various site and factory locations to ensure that they are produced, and UL marked in compliance with various UL applicable technical requirements. You will be also involved in international activities. Key responsibilities:
  • Perform various certification inspections in several engineering fields, electrical and mechanical mainly; Analyze and evaluate examination and test results against applicable requirements; Use technical judgment to determine whether noncompliance variations compromise the continued application of the UL Mark and may determine if alternative is acceptable
  • Observes the use of manufacturer’s equipment necessary to meet UL requirements
  • Check the proper calibration of manufacturers’ measuring equipment
  • Document examination, variations and test results to appropriate UL forms
  • Maintain logs for scheduling inspections, time and expenses
  • Provide general information on policies and procedures for the varied UL services along with promoting and explaining the benefits of new and existing services; Discuss procedures, test methods, test results, sample
    selection and variations in products, devices, processes, systems and materials as necessary to resolve problems,
  • Participate in proposing changes to the UL Policy Manuals such as the Field Services Manual. Review and submit comments on the new Follow-Up Services programs; Coordinate with other UL staff on conducting the field portion of File Reviews.
  • Be aware to be part of a team working remotely
What makes you a great fit::
  • University Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent diploma plus experience with electro-mechanical devices and components.
  • 2-3 years of work experience.
  • Knowledge of fire-safety regulation and ideally experience in electromechanical testing
  • Able to build rapport and communicate effectively with Clients and UL colleagues
  • Able to travel to Clients' sites and manage own schedules
  • Outstanding project management, record and time keeping skills
  • Client-centric, Agile, Collaborative, taking pride and striving for excellence.
  • Driving and travelling is not a problem.
