IIQAF is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Farmer to oversee the development and maintenance of agricultural operations. The Farmer will be responsible for day-to-day field operations including but not limited to crop and livestock selection, crop rotation, maintenance of irrigation systems, and pest and weed control. The Farmer will also need to manage soil fertility, plant nutrition, and other areas related to optimizing crop yields. Additionally, they will need to have a strong understanding of changing weather patterns, consumer preferences, and current regulations.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the farm
Choose crops and livestock that meet business goals and suit the climate and physical characteristics of the land
Ensure proper crop rotation, irrigation, and weed control
Analyze soil samples and apply appropriate corrective measures
Implement sustainable agricultural practices, such as water conservation and land management
Ensure proper use of fertilizers and pest management
Accurately document activities such as production records and budgets
Supervise and train seasonal workers
Maintain excellent communication with other agricultural operations, such as suppliers, buyers, and competitors
Ensure compliance with current regulations
Requirements:
5 years of farming experience
Proven track record of successfully achieving yields through efficient agricultural practices
Strong knowledge of integrated pest management techniques
Exceptional understanding of soil and water management practices
Experience in harvesting, packaging, and handling of harvest crops
Knowledge of current regulations and protocols regarding pesticide and fertilizer use
Ability to manage and supervise seasonal agricultural workers
A valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and reliable transportation
Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision
