Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking

Farm Manager / Agricultural Engineer

to lead our farm operations in Ajman. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day agricultural activities, with a focus on improving farming techniques, overseeing greenhouse operations, irrigation systems, and the use of agricultural machinery. The role emphasizes optimizing soil and water management, increasing crop yields, and integrating sustainable and advanced farming technologies.

Key Requirements:

Experience in the UAE agriculture market, particularly with local agricultural products and deep understanding of local climate, crops, and farming challenges. Hands-on experience in seed field trials and greenhouse crop production. Strong background in farm and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Farm Management & Development:

Oversee all day-to-day farm operations, ensuring optimal performance and productivity. Design and manage irrigation and drainage systems for open fields and greenhouses. Develop strategies to enhance soil fertility and maximize crop yields. Recommend and implement appropriate machinery and cultivation techniques. Manage crop schedules, pest control strategies, and harvesting timelines.

2. Greenhouse Operations:

Oversee the design, setup, and maintenance of greenhouse structures. Manage climate control systems, irrigation, and lighting for greenhouse crops. Implement modern greenhouse farming techniques for high-value crops. Monitor plant health, nutrition, and growth inside the greenhouse environment. Ensure greenhouse efficiency and compliance with sustainability practices.

3. Agricultural Machinery & Equipment:

Supervise installation, servicing, and repair of farm and greenhouse equipment. Ensure proper use, safety, and performance of agricultural tools and machinery. Evaluate equipment efficiency and introduce improvements where needed.

4. Soil & Water Management:

Conduct soil testing and recommend appropriate fertilizers and organic treatments. Design sustainable irrigation systems to conserve water and maintain crop health. Apply erosion control and soil conservation techniques to preserve soil quality.

5. Research & Innovation:

Stay up to date with global and regional agricultural innovations and practices. Integrate eco-friendly, cost-effective, and smart farming technologies. Lead experimental trials on new seeds, growing techniques, and crop varieties.

6. Project Planning & Supervision:

Manage construction and development of farm infrastructure including greenhouses, irrigation networks, and storage units. Train and supervise farm labourers and technicians on modern agricultural methods. Monitor project timelines and budgets, identify improvement areas, and ensure timely execution.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, or a related field. Proven experience in farm management, greenhouse operations, irrigation systems, and agricultural machinery. In-depth knowledge of modern and sustainable farming practices. Proficiency in agricultural management software and tools. Familiarity with sustainable farming techniques and agricultural technologies. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work outdoors and under various weather conditions.
