Job Description

The Factory Accountant is responsible for managing all accounting and cost-related activities of factory operations. The role ensures accurate recording of financial transactions, detailed cost analysis, inventory control, and factory expenses, while supporting management through timely reporting, analysis, and strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Management

Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of all factory-related financial transactions. Post purchase invoices and ensure proper accounting of all purchases. Reconcile purchases and sales of goods on a regular basis. Monitor accounts payable and receivable and perform periodic reconciliations.

Factory & Production / Cost Accounting

Record and monitor production expenses, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and f inished goods. Track production costs, factory overheads, and analyse cost variances. Calculate and monitor Cost of Goods Manufactured and Cost of Goods Sold. Identify cost-saving opportunities and highlight inefficiencies in production processes.

Inventory & Stock Management

Reconcile physical stock with system/accounting records and investigate variances. Participate in physical stock counts and cycle counts at factory and warehouse locations.

Reporting & Analysis

Prepare daily profit reports and operational performance reports. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to factory and cost accounting. Assist management with cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.

Reconciliation & Internal Controls

Perform supplier, inventory, and inter-departmental reconciliations. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and company procedures. Support internal and external audits related to factory, cost, and inventory accounts.

Coordination & Support

Work closely with production, warehouse, quality, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure accurate f inancial data. Coordinate with Head Office finance team for consolidated reporting. Provide ad-hoc accounting, costing, and reporting support to the Chief Accountant / Finance Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Cost Accounting, or a related field. 2-5 years of experience in factory or manufacturing accounting, preferably in food or FMCG industry. Strong hands-on experience in cost accounting, inventory control, and production costing.

Skills & Competencies

High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and MS Excel. Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a factory environment. Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

Preferred Attributes

Experience in food manufacturing or frozen food operations. Exposure to cold storage or warehouse accounting.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED4,500.00 per month
