Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced External Accounts Lead Accountant with

at least 5 years of UAE accounting experience

to manage statutory accounting, VAT & corporate tax filings, financial statement preparation and audit coordination for a large construction contractor. The role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail and experience working with auditors and external advisors.

Key Responsibilities

Manage statutory books, ledgers, and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Oversee VAT compliance, including preparation and submission of VAT returns and reconciliations. Ensure Corporate Tax compliance and support filings in coordination with tax advisors. Conduct bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow, and manage intercompany transactions. Coordinate with external auditors and provide required documentation for annual audits. Implement and maintain accounting systems, controls, and processes in line with UAE standards. Liaise with banks, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders as needed. Supervise or coordinate external bookkeeping and accounting service providers if applicable

Required Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 5 years' accounting experience in the UAE

(must be shown clearly on CV with supporting documents). Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce. Professional accounting qualification preferred/required (ACCA, CPA, CMA or equivalent local accounting certificate). Proven experience preparing financial statements and coordinating statutory audits. Solid knowledge of UAE VAT and corporate tax filing processes. Strong MS Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems Excellent communication, analytical ability and attention to detail.

English required

Key Performance Indicators :

Timely close of statutory books and VAT filings each month. Accuracy in financial statements (minimise audit adjustments). Maintain up-to-date reconciliations for receivables, payables and intercompany accounts. Audit readiness and timely resolution of audit findings. On-time payroll accounting and compliance.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary:

AED 8,000-12,000 per month (negotiable based on experience)
