About the job Exhibition Docent // L'ECOLE School of Jewelry Arts by Van Cleef & Arpels
ECOLE School of Jewelry Arts, created in 2012 by Van Cleef & Arpels. LECOLEs aim is to spread the culture of jewelry arts to all with courses, exhibitions, kids workshops, talks, conferences and books.
All its activities are organized around three major fields: the history of jewelry, the world of gemstones and the know-how of jewelry making techniques. The classes are practice-based. In know-how the students experiment with specific gestures, skills and tools.
In art history they have the privilege of admiring antique jewelry from LECOLE collections. And in gemology they observe, manipulate and learn to identify the stones using gemologist tools.
With its Campus in the Middle East, LECOLE School of Jewelry Arts contributes to the promotion and visibility of jewelry culture in a region of cultural effervescence.
Position:
LECOLE is currently looking for Exhibition Docents to lead tours and interact with the visitors by sharing knowledge about displayed exhibits. The Docent will be part of a dynamic team and serve as an ambassador of LECOLE to welcome visitors, provide guided tours and educational information to the public, ensuring a rewarding experience for all guests.
Main duties:
Welcome visitors upon arrival and process registration
Provide exhibition guided tours in both private and public settings, in various languages (English, preferably French, Russian and Arabic)
Provide information on LECOLEs programs and activities to visitors
Support special events at LECOLE (private tours, opening ceremonies, press days, conversations etc.)
Requirements:
Good knowledge in Jewelry and the industry
Excellent command of spoken English, French, Russian and Arabic would be an advantage
Delighted to meet visitors of all ages and share the passion for arts and culture
Outgoing, welcoming, and proactive personality
Experience in client service industries would be an advantage
Flexibility in work schedule; available to work on weekends and public holidays.
Contract duration:
Duration : 6 months
Visa requirements : Freelancers or preferably visa holders
