Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented

Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

with

5 years of professional experience

in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, performing quantity take-offs, analyzing project costs, and supporting the commercial management of projects from tender through to completion. A solid understanding of construction processes, market rates, and contract management is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction and infrastructure projects (pre-contract and post-contract). Perform quantity take-offs based on drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities. Evaluate tender documents, drawings, and specifications to understand project scope. Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities. Analyze material, labor, and equipment costs and prepare cost comparison sheets. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain up-to-date pricing information. Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives. Monitor project costs during construction to ensure adherence to budget. Prepare and submit interim payment applications, variations, and final accounts. Ensure compliance with contract terms and manage risks related to cost and time. Work closely with the project team, engineers, architects, and clients. Provide regular cost reporting and forecasting to management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in cost estimation and quantity surveying. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing. Proficiency in estimation and quantity surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX, Planswift, MS Excel). Familiarity with FIDIC and other contract standards is a plus. Excellent analytical and numerical skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Good communication and negotiation skills.
