Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical

Estimation Specialist

to join our team. The Estimation Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects by analyzing project plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure comprehensive and timely estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze blueprints, drawings, and project documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information. Conduct risk assessments and identify potential cost-saving opportunities. Maintain and update a database of historical project costs and supplier prices. Review and assess supplier and subcontractor quotes. Ensure estimates are in line with company goals, budget, and profitability targets. Prepare and present detailed estimation reports and bid packages to management or clients. Track changes in project scope and adjust estimates accordingly.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in cost estimation. Proven experience in cost estimation, preferably in [your industry--e.g., construction, manufacturing, etc.]. Strong analytical and math skills. Proficiency with estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, RSMeans, or similar). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification such as Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) or similar. Familiarity with project management tools and software. Experience working in [specific markets, e.g., commercial, residential, infrastructure]. Why Join JDV - Joie De Vivre?
