Job Summary

The Estimation Engineer - Buildings is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential, commercial, and mixed-use building projects. The role supports tendering and pre-contract activities to ensure successful and profitable project awards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs for building projects (residential, commercial, villas, and high-rise buildings). Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and scope of works. Perform quantity take-offs for civil, architectural, and finishing works. Coordinate with procurement to obtain material, supplier, and subcontractor quotations. Analyze and evaluate subcontractor and vendor offers to ensure technical and commercial compliance. Identify cost risks, value engineering options, and cost-saving opportunities. Prepare tender clarifications, assumptions, exclusions, and pricing breakdowns. Participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings with clients and consultants. Maintain updated cost databases, market rates, and historical pricing for building works. Support project teams during handover from tender to execution stage.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying. 3-7 years of UAE experience in building construction estimation. Proven experience with residential, commercial, and high-rise building projects. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and finishing works for buildings. Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with estimation software is an advantage. Knowledge of FIDIC contracts and UAE building regulations/standards. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight tender deadlines.
