Job Description

The Civil Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a wide range of projects, including commercial and residential buildings, civil works, and turnkey interior fit-out projects. The role requires a deep understanding of local market rates, material specifications, and UAE regulations, along with the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver competitive and compliant bids.

Key Responsibilities:

Tendering & Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil and fit-out projects based on drawings, specifications, and BOQs. Analyze and quantify material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Evaluate tender documents, scope of work, and technical specifications. Pre-Contract Analysis: Conduct site visits (if required) to assess project conditions and gather necessary information. Prepare and compile technical and commercial proposals for submission to clients and consultants. Collaborate with procurement teams to obtain material and supplier quotations. Cost Planning & Budgeting: Develop cost plans and budgets for ongoing and upcoming projects. Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs and margins. Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all estimation submissions are in line with client requirements and local authority regulations. Maintain updated records of unit rates, suppliers, and subcontractors for future reference. Coordination & Review: Coordinate with project managers, architects, and engineers for scope clarifications. Attend tender clarification meetings and post-tender negotiations as required.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of civil construction and interior fit-out processes Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, CCS Candy, or other estimation software Deep understanding of UAE market pricing, construction norms, and regulatory standards Analytical mindset with strong numerical and negotiation skills Excellent communication and presentation abilities

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent Minimum 5-7 years of experience in civil and fit-out estimation, with proven UAE market exposure Familiarity with commercial and residential building standards and authority regulations (Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DDA, etc.)
