Overview

**This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP**

+ Responsible for implementing and assisting with development of the Environmental, Safety, and Health Plan; ensuring compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local requirements; establishing ESH evaluation, compliance, and behavioral monitoring. Will write and review technical reports and will interact with middle management.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

+ Establishes a contract-wide Environmental, Safety, and Health evaluation, compliance, and behavioral monitoring program that conforms to applicable legal and other requirements.

+ Coordinates the development of fire protection, public health, emergency responses, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) handling, environmental safety and health processes, and other field activities.

+ Ensures that Environmental, Safety, and Health Program incorporates current industrial standards, and, where applicable, conforms to Federal regulations.

+ Communicates professionally, both orally and in writing, with their subordinates as needed to relay information necessary for job success. This includes, but is not limited to, staff meetings, performance appraisals, job requirements, division metrics, projects, Quality Standard Procedures, and ESH best practices.

+ Performs ESH Specialist/Inspector duties and assist junior ESH Team members in further development of their skills; along with other duties as required.

+ Maintains close contact with the ESH Engineer and other specialists to monitor program environmental, safety, and health practices.

+ Supports and monitors the achievement of established metrics and goals.

+ Handles confidential matters (personnel actions, management reports, etc.).

+ Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications

+ Experience:

+ Minimum two years' experience as environmental, safety and health specialist, with firsthand knowledge of operations in a behavior-based compliance program and hazardous material management, to include environmental compliance; knowledgeable in DOD, Army, EPA, and Federal regulations.

+ Prefer a minimum of two years in a leadership position.

+ Military background is beneficial.

+ Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination:

+ To be qualified for this position you must comply with USCENTCOM MOD 16 that requires proof that you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, as defined by the CDC or host country requirements. As of now, to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 you must have received either two doses of Pfizer BioNTech Vaccine, two doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford Vaccine, two doses of Moderna Vaccine, or one dose of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine, and two weeks must have elapsed after the final dose was administered. This definition may change in accordance with CDC guidelines. Compliance with this government requirement is an essential function of the position and is a condition of employment.

+ Skills:

+ Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to instruct small and medium groups of people.

+ Competent in computer operations to include Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

+ Must have a strong ability to work independently as a member of a robust team.

+ Able to manage others to complete assigned task.

+ Supervisory Responsibilities

+ General supervision of team

+ Working Conditions:

+ Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

+ Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).

+ Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

+ Physical Requirements:

+ Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

+ Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

+ Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
