Job Description
Job Purpose:
To assemble, fit, and erect structural steel, piping, equipment, and related components at site, ensuring compliance with drawings, safety standards, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and erection plans. Assemble and fit structural steel, piping, and equipment for installation. Align, level, and bolt components together using appropriate tools and equipment. Use lifting devices, cranes, and rigging tools to position heavy parts safely. Perform fitting, drilling, grinding, and minor adjustments to ensure accurate assembly. Inspect and verify alignment, tolerances, and dimensions before final tightening/welding. Ensure safe handling of tools, lifting tackles, and work at height equipment. Support welders and other trades during erection activities. Follow HSE procedures and report any unsafe conditions or incidents. Maintain tools, equipment, and ensure housekeeping at the work site.
Qualifications & Experience:
ITI/Diploma in Fitting/Mechanical or equivalent. Experience in structural/mechanical erection (oil & gas, construction, or industrial projects). Ability to read and understand fabrication and erection drawings. Skilled in use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments. Knowledge of rigging, lifting, and safe work practices. Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and confined spaces.
