Structural Fitter

is responsible for assembling, fitting, and aligning structural steel components, cladding sheets like corrugated and sandwich panel sheets as per engineering drawings. The role involves layout marking, fitting, and preparation for final welding or erection, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with safety and project standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret fabrication drawings, isometrics, and layout plans. Measure, cut, prepare steel sections and components for assembly of cladding sheets. Perform fitting, alignment of structural members such as beams, columns, platforms, and frames. Check dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments (tape, square, level, etc.). Assemble components accurately for welding or bolting as per drawings. Work closely with welders, fabricators, and rigging crews to complete assemblies. Ensure materials and components are handled safely and efficiently. Report material shortages or drawing discrepancies to the supervisor. Follow safety procedures and use appropriate PPE during all operations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.

Qualifications and Experience

:

Technical Certificate or Trade Qualification in Fabrication, Fitting, or Mechanical disciplines. Minimum 3-7 years of experience as a structural fitter in fabrication shops or construction sites. Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings and details. Knowledge of welding symbols, alignment methods, and assembly tolerances. Experience in oil & gas, industrial, or infrastructure projects preferred.
