Job Description

The Environmental Officer is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities comply with environmental regulations, standards, and company policies. The role focuses on implementing, monitoring, and maintaining environmental management systems to minimize the project's environmental impact and ensure sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and monitor the company's Environmental Management Plan (EMP) in accordance with Qatar environmental laws and project specifications. Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with environmental policies, procedures, and local regulations. Prepare environmental reports, documentation, and records for submission to regulatory authorities and clients. Identify potential environmental risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Coordinate waste management, pollution prevention, and recycling initiatives on site. Monitor air quality, water quality, noise levels, and dust emissions as required by environmental regulations. Conduct environmental awareness and training sessions for staff and subcontractors. Liaise with governmental bodies (e.g., MoECC) regarding permits, inspections, and compliance requirements. Investigate environmental incidents, prepare reports, and ensure corrective measures are implemented. Support HSE team in achieving ISO 14001 environmental management standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline. Minimum 4

-5 years of experience

as an Environmental Officer in a construction or infrastructure project, preferably in Qatar. Strong knowledge of

Qatar environmental regulations

and international standards (ISO 14001). Experience in environmental monitoring, reporting, and risk assessment. Proficiency in MS Office and environmental management software. Excellent communication and reporting skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
