Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Engine Supervisor / Technician to join our marine engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in overhauling marine engines, interpreting engineering drawings, and carrying out onboard mechanical repair works. This role requires technical proficiency, hands-on experience, and a solid understanding of ship repair procedures and engine room systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Overhaul and maintain 2-stroke and 4-stroke main and auxiliary engines. Read and interpret engineering drawings and mechanical schematics accurately. Perform build-up, machining, and reconditioning of engine components. Execute routine engine maintenance and apply correct tolerances and clearances. Troubleshoot engine-related faults and carry out effective repair strategies. Support mechanical repairs and installations onboard vessels. Coordinate with ship staff, supervisors, and technical teams to ensure timely job completion. Adhere to safety and quality standards throughout the repair process.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

ITI / Diploma / Certification in Mechanical or Marine Engineering. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in ship repair or marine engine overhauling. Strong knowledge of engine room systems, marine machinery, and general ship repair procedures. Familiarity with marine safety practices and tools. Proficient in using measuring instruments and workshop machinery for component repair. Good problem-solving abilities and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

Work experience with engine makers or in shipyards/dry docks. Exposure to classification society requirements and inspections. Understanding of marine engine performance diagnostics and tuning.
