We are currently recruiting for an Energy & Sustainability Engineer to join our IFS team in Dubai, in our HQ located in DAFZA, Dubai Airport Free Zone.
Scope
The Energy & Sustainability Engineer will assist the Energy & Sustainability Manager with organization\xe2\x80\x99s Sustainability & Energy programs. Through their research and analysis, they will assist with corporate Sustainability Strategy to ensure that business process and practices are aligned with government rules and Regulations.
They need to ensure that all the process, equipment, products, and services are environmentally friendly and in line with international sustainability standards.
They will ensure Energy & Water Management Strategy are incorporated in all business processes related to clients.
They will monitor, support and report on projects/operations in line with the Transguard Energy Management Policy and Strategy. This includes conducting regular or as required Energy audits, Utility monitoring, and Utility Saving Projects, and reviewing asset condition surveys with the aim of highlighting low performance of assets impacting energy consumption.
This position is HQ-based role, and often requires working irregular hours. Some jobs may require visiting remote locations, well-suited to people with strong technical skills who have an interest in the environment and enjoy finding solutions to problems.
Responsibilities
Sustainability Strategy
Work closely with Sustainability Manager to monitor, report and execute local projects and enterprise-wide campaigns
Monitor and report the progress of social responsibility policies and implementation on all sites
Be actively involved in monitoring and reporting programs that address environmental issues affecting operations and processes
Work with Corporate and other affiliate departmental teams to raise awareness for environment issues; assist in reducing operational resource consumption, and work with ground team members assigned to environmental projects
Collect necessary data required for the publication of Annual Corporate Social Responsibility related to Energy and Environmental Sustainability
Must be able to perform Energy Audits as per ASHRAE Standards (Level-1, 2 & 3)
Must be able to measure and verify Energy, Carbon Emissions & Water consumption data
Project Management
Manage environmental projects (e.g. recycling programs, energy reduction initiatives and other similar programs)
Report the scope in detail & highlight any issues
Collect the data required for the preparation of the operational & performance parameters baselines of each project to qualify its sustainability impact
Review of service agreements, contracts and provide feedback to procurement and legal departments on the sustainability aspects
Operational Excellence & Service Delivery to client
Regular engagement with Sustainability Manager, Senior Manager and client leadership Team to determine project priorities and deliverables
Provide detailed cost benefit analysis and business cases for improvements to client
Assist Sustainability Manager with coordination between internal stakeholders to ensure deliverables are in accordance with BU and Transformation scope and objectives
Ensure the on-site team provide accurate, timely and consistent reporting to ensure measures and metrics can be reviewed on an on-going basis
Governance of Policies, Processes and Procedures
Work in partnership with support functions (Communication/ HR/ Procurement/ IT) to ensure the correct policies and procedures are in place and maintained to support the Sustainability Strategy
Ensure captured data is accurate and set up appropriately for reporting metrics to management
Health, Safety & Environment
Demonstrate commitment and Leadership to ensure that all HSE Policies and Procedures are fully implemented throughout the areas of responsibility and are compliant to all relevant legal, regulatory or contractual requirements pertaining to HSE
Ensure direct reports have adequate risk assessments for their line of work and are appropriately documented and regularly reviewed
Ensure direct reports are appropriately trained and understand their responsibilities and provide the required resources so that they can carry out their duties
Be represented at HSE Committee meetings as required. Set a personal example on all matters of Health and Safety and Environment
Energy & Water Management
Support Manager with energy management strategy and policy for efficient use of utilities, utilities including but not limited to water, sewage, electricity & waste
Conduct regular energy use audits that link to the Energy policy and Environmental policy ensuring each TG client has detailed report and action plan to reduce utility consumption (Energy, water, Waste)
Support Manager with data collection for creating energy-star-rating matrix for all client facilities and assets within facility
Liaise with facility managers, property managers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance to energy management policy, conduct training sessions and create training material where necessary
Assist Facility Managers and Senior Manager in establishing project requirements and undertake feasibility studies
Responsible for supporting Facility Managers and Senior Manager, and for executing saving projects with documentation, and verification of savings as per approved case study
Provide energy management solutions for bid support, this may include bid writing and technical presentations to external clients on Energy/Utility Management
Support Sustainability Manager with data and calculation for preparing financial budget and forecasting, provide financial appraisal of conservation measures to determine business justification and ROI
Establish utility consumption baseline and conduct benchmarking against industry standards
Engage with industry professionals to keep up to date with new trends and technology
In depth analysis of consumption data, assess trends, report consumption data, and provide recommendations for improvements to client
Lead the Energy & Water Savings projects from preparing the business case and implementing on site
Ensure the compliance of LEED and Green Building Guidelines, and be able to perform Energy Modelling
Prepare the strategy to reduce Carbon Emissions and Aim to have NET ZERO Emissions Goal
Skills
Knowledge \xe2\x80\x93 Experience
2-3 years of experience in a similar position in the Facilities Management Industry ideally
Experience in the Sustainability & Energy Industry
Experience in Energy Auditing
Knowledge \xe2\x80\x93 Education
Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, FM or Sustainability, CSR)
LEED GA Certified preferably LEED AP
CMVP/CEA/CEM certified
