The EMR Integration Specialist will act as the bridge between clinical operations, IT systems, and vendors to ensure that workflows of care are effectively translated into system functionalities. This role ensures usability, compliance, and accuracy in data capture across departments, leading to a successful EMR go-live and stabilization phase.
Key Responsibilities
Translate workflows of care and patient journeys into EMR functional requirements ensuring usability, compliance, and data capture consistency.
Gather, document in detail and validate business requirements from each functional area (including but not limited to clinical, nursing, pharmacy, admissions, billing, admin).
Coordinate between clinical operations, IT (both at project and HoldCo level), and EMR vendor to ensure system fully reflects intended patient strategy and workflows.
Configure, test, and validate EMR modules with end-users based on the rollout plan.
Support data upload and mapping (patients, providers, inventory, forms).
Liaise with vendor's team for interface testing of DoH/Malaffi with internal systems.
Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and log technical issues for closure.
Provide floor-support during go-live and first operational weeks.
Train super-users and ensure proper handover to IT/Clinical Ops teams.
Maintain regular reporting to Project leadership on EMR implementation status.
Expected Deliverables
Detailed Business Requirements Document mapping all functional requirements.
Workflow-to-System Map translating the integration of care pathways into EMR functionalities and forms.
Parameterized EMR environment with validated configuration, reflecting approved workflows and data fields.
Verified data integration with external systems (DoH, Malaffi, etc.).
UAT plan and signed-off testing results.
Issue log with closure tracking and validation evidence.
Go-live checklist (connectivity, user credentials, end-points' access).
EMR effectively moved to production across clinical and administrative departments.
Training completion tracker and end-user sign-offs.
Post-go-live performance report with recommendations for stabilization.
Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum
10
+ years of experience
in EMR implementation, healthcare IT, or digital health transformation.
Experience with
Cerner, Epic, InterSystems, or equivalent EMR systems
.
Strong understanding of clinical workflows, data integration, and regulatory compliance (DoH/Malaffi).
Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
