Job description:



We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Healthcare Systems Integration Specialist to join our growing IT team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless flow of information between various healthcare systems, optimizing workflows, and enhancing overall operational efficiency and patient care. You will work within a complex and dynamic healthcare environment, leveraging your technical expertise and understanding of clinical processes to design, implement, and maintain robust integration solutions.

Responsibilities:



Design & Development:



Design, develop, and implement integration solutions to connect disparate healthcare IT systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHRs), Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) systems, and other clinical and administrative applications. Develop and maintain APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and middleware for system interoperability. Map data formats and ensure accurate and secure data exchange between systems. Create detailed technical documentation for all integration processes and solutions.

Implementation & Support:



Lead and participate in the implementation of new healthcare technologies and system upgrades, ensuring successful integration with existing infrastructure. Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for integration issues, collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to resolve problems promptly. Monitor integration performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive enhancements to optimize data flow and system stability.

Collaboration & Communication:



Work closely with clinical staff, IT teams, and other stakeholders to understand workflow needs and translate them into technical requirements for integration solutions. Communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences. Collaborate with vendors to ensure seamless integration of third-party systems and applications.

Compliance & Security:



Ensure all integration solutions comply with relevant healthcare regulations and standards, including but not limited to HL7 (Health Level Seven), FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), DICOM, and HIPAA. Implement robust data security and privacy measures to protect sensitive patient information.

Process Improvement:



Continuously analyze existing integration processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Propose and implement innovative solutions to streamline data exchange and reduce manual intervention. Stay abreast of emerging healthcare IT integration technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field. 3-5 years of proven experience in healthcare IT systems integration in Middle East. In-depth knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 v2, FHIR, and DICOM. Proficiency with at least one major interface engine (e.g., Rhapsody, Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf). Strong programming skills in languages such as JavaScript, Java, Python, or SQL. Experience with database concepts and management (SQL, NoSQL). Understanding of network and web application protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, SFTP, VPN). Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and other healthcare applications. Solid understanding of change control, source code management, and DevOps concepts. o Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and collaboration abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality, accurate integration solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:



Master's degree in a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., HL7 Certified Specialist, Integration Engine specific certifications). Experience with cloud-based integration platforms. Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) workflows.
