Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Inspections:

Conduct thorough inspections of electrical installations and systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations. Inspect electrical wiring, components, and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Identify potential hazards and recommend necessary corrective actions.

Code Compliance:

Ensure all electrical work meets the requirements of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA, and other relevant standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all applicable codes and standards. Provide reports documenting compliance or non-compliance with regulatory requirements.

Contractor Oversight:

Monitor contractors to ensure that electrical work is performed to project specifications and in compliance with safety standards. Review and approve contractors' work in progress and completed installations. Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies identified during inspections.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, findings, and recommendations. Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings to project managers and stakeholders. Assist in preparing necessary documentation for permits and certifications.

Safety & Quality Assurance:

Ensure all electrical systems meet high-quality standards and safety protocols. Conduct regular site visits to assess ongoing work and identify areas for improvement. Provide guidance on best practices for electrical installations and maintenance.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical systems is preferred. 8+ years of experience as an electrical inspector or a similar role. In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and other relevant standards. Strong understanding of electrical installations, maintenance, and repair procedures. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
