The job purpose is to design, develop, test, and oversee the installation of electrical equipment, components, and systems. The role involves working on various projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, and collaborating with other engineering and technical staff to deliver high-quality solutions.
Design and Development:
- Develop, design, and improve electrical systems and components to meet project specifications and requirements.
- Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
- Select appropriate electrical components, materials, and equipment for projects.
Project Management:
- Assist in Planning and managing electrical projects from the initial concept through to comple
- tion.
- Prepare project budgets and monitor expenses to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Allocate resources, schedule tasks, and manage the project timeline to meet deadlines.
Testing and Evaluation:
- Develop and test prototypes of electrical systems and components to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Conduct performance evaluations on electrical systems and components to ensure they meet design specifications and industry standards.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to electrical systems and equipment.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Implement and adhere to safety standards and protocols in all electrical engineering activities.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and user manuals.
- Provide regular progress reports to project management and stakeholders.
Project Delivery:
- Percentage of projects completed within the agreed timeline.
- Adherence to project milestones and schedules.
Budget Management:
- Percentage of projects completed within the allocated budget.
- Difference between estimated and actual project costs.
Design and Development:
- Number of design errors or revisions required.
- Percentage of designs that meet project specifications and standards.
Quality of Work:
- Number of defects or issues identified in the electrical systems or components designed.
- Amount of rework required due to design or installation errors.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adherence to relevant codes, standards, and regulations in all projects.
- Number of safety incidents or violations related to electrical engineering work.
Innovation and Improvement:
- Number and impact of innovative solutions implemented in projects.
