We are looking for an

Electrical Design Engineer (Substation)

for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Onshore, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: Direct hire

Qualification and Experience Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university. Minimum of 12 years of experience post-graduation, with at least 8 years of experience as an electrical engineer in HV substation/Cable projects, and expertise in dealing with power utilities (preferably in the UAE or GCC). Experience with TAQA Transmission or equivalent in the region is highly desirable. Strong track record in basic design and design review. Ability to conduct and manage meetings efficiently. Fluent in English - reading, writing, and speaking. Adequate knowledge of international standards and TAQA specifications. Proficiency in MS-Office & AutoCAD

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of conceptual design for greenfield/brownfield substation/cable project after verifying feasibility, develop detailed scope of works, bill of quantities, tender documents. Assist during tendering for preparation of pre-tender clarifications, post-tender clarifications, technical bid evaluation, priced bid evaluation, contract documents. Conduct Design review of Electrical design documents, calculations, drawings, schematics, test procedures, method statements, test reports, etc. ensuring compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and regulations. Participate in design meetings and Technical Coordination Meetings to discuss and resolve project design issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with higher officers and clients regarding design progress, deviations, and interface points. Provide technical support and assistance to the client's teams, and assist in any interface requirements with the Office. Prepare, maintain, and review documentation for all electrical designs and modifications, including contractor's design documents and procedures. Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and technology.
