:

The Education Specialist, under direction from the Education Support Manager is responsible for delivering a high quality, informative and accurate interpretive, educational guest experience with emphasis on sharing the SeaWorld Abu Dhabi educational message.

This position will require close interaction with guests from all walks of life and age groups while delivering important information about the Zoological attractions and exhibits. The Educational Specialist will be required to conduct informative and fact-based animal presentations, both in park and on outreach programs while also promoting other offered products and activities to our guests and will be required to have a high level of knowledge about all taxa housed at the park, with the ability to deliver this information in a fun and exciting way. The Education Specialist will be required to develop an extensive knowledge of the UAE school curriculum requirements in order to conduct designed curriculum-based programing. This position requires a person that will be the daily face, representative and ambassador for SeaWorld Abu Dhabi mission.

This position requires the ability to stand and walk for an entire shift; handle and work with animal ambassadors including mammals, birds, Reptiles and some aquatic species. Lift, push and pull 15kg; and work in varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; weekends, and holidays.

Job scope:

• Consistently engages and interacts with guests of all ages in a professional, educational fun manner while delivering high-quality guest experience programs
• Conducts Education Programs for special events and daily operations, in coordination with the Education Support Manager, other Educators, Sales, Marketing, Guest Experiences and Animal Husbandry team.
• Conducts frequent fact-based animal presentations and guided tours for on, off sight, special events and overnight experiences
• Works closely with the Education Support Manager in order to deliver excellent, transformational zoological programming, ensures offerings are relevant and compelling to today\'s audiences in content and delivery
• Operates independently with minimal supervision while providing incredible guest service and innovating new experiences
• Initiates interaction with guests to proactively provide animal and information about the Park
• Monitors guests and animal safety in coordination with the Animal Husbandry team
• Promotes products, services and activities to the guests
• Maintains knowledge of the park information, updates and promotions
• Responds to guests queries/complaints with effective resolution under guidance from the Education Support manager when needed
• Completes all required trainings and maintains professional development and competencies
• Fosters a culture of human and animal safety; following all safety policies and practices with a knowledge of all appropriate protective equipment in accordance to HSE policy
• Prepares education and tour materials and maintains its professional appearance
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the workplace for designated areas
• Performs other duties as assigned

To be considered for the role, you will need to have:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of experience in customer service
• 1 year of experience in zoological setting, with basic understanding of zoological operations preferred
• 1 year of teaching experience preferred
• Good skills in customer/guest interaction
• Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written
• Good public speaker, with the ability to readily adjust to audience
• Basic knowledge of educational principles and instructional design models
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office applications
