Economics & Mathematics Tutor (AP Curriculum, Online)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Economics and Mathematics Tutor to support a 17-year-old high school senior at an American international school in Dubai.

The student is enrolled in Grade 12 (final year) and requires academic support in AP Microeconomics and Pre-Calculus, with a strong focus on AP curriculum standards.

The ideal candidate will combine deep subject knowledge with engaging teaching methods, offering both structured lessons and flexible problem-solving support.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality tutoring sessions online in Economics (AP Microeconomics) and Mathematics (Pre-Calculus, AP prep). Develop and implement a customized study plan aligned with the American high school curriculum and AP requirements. Use digital platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, or similar) and interactive tools (IXL, Desmos, Whiteboard apps, etc.) to enhance learning. Provide clear explanations, practice exercises, and exam preparation strategies (AP/SAT readiness). Monitor student's progress, provide feedback, and adjust teaching methods as needed. Inspire confidence and help the student reach academic excellence.

Requirements

Proven experience in tutoring AP Microeconomics and Pre-Calculus (AP teaching experience strongly preferred). Strong understanding of the American high school curriculum and college-prep/AP exam standards. Ability to engage, motivate, and adapt lessons to a high school senior. Proficiency with online teaching platforms and digital learning tools. Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Economics, Mathematics, Education, or related field. Excellent communication skills in English.

Student: 17 years old, Grade 12 (Dubai, UAE). Format: Online tutoring (open to tutors worldwide). Schedule: Flexible, with availability to accommodate student's academic requirements. Contract: Hourly-based (to be agreed upon with candidate).

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience and qualifications.
