Position Overview
Drilling Applications Engineer in Abu Dhabi, UAE provides technical support for well planning, BHA optimization, real-time drilling performance, and collision avoidance operations within ADNOC Group's Oil & Energy drilling environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare integrated well plans, engineering calculations, and pre-well planning programs aligned with ADNOC standards.
  • Implement collision avoidance planning using industry-standard anti-collision rules and company guidelines.
  • Monitor real-time wellbore positioning and apply corrective actions to prevent well-to-well interference.
  • Perform torque and drag analysis, hydraulics modelling, and vibration simulations for complex well designs.
  • Provide technical support during drilling operations to optimize performance and minimize risks.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and digital workflows on company servers for knowledge sharing.
  • Prepare comprehensive end-of-well reports including performance analysis, lessons learned, and improvement recommendations.
  • Provide technical guidance on BHA design, hydraulics optimization, torque and drag mitigation, and vibration control.
  • Analyze offset well data and operational KPIs to enhance future drilling efficiency.
  • Model drilling performance using simulation software and recommend advanced tools and technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC safety, environmental, and operational policies.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in drilling engineering or drilling applications.
  • Strong knowledge of well planning principles, BHA optimization, torque and drag modelling, and drilling simulation software.
  • Experience in collision avoidance planning and real-time well monitoring systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills in spoken and written English.
