The Draftsman will be responsible for producing accurate technical and shop drawings for the Dubai Islands project, ensuring alignment with design specifications, authority requirements (Trakhees, DDA, DM), and site conditions. The role demands close coordination with engineers, site teams, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare shop drawings, detailed layouts, and as-built drawings for piling, shoring, foundations, heavy lifting, and infrastructure works specific to Dubai Islands.
Convert design concepts, survey data, and site measurements into precise technical drawings using AutoCAD and related software.
Ensure all drawings comply with Trakhees, Nakheel, and other Dubai authority submission requirements.
Coordinate with survey teams to incorporate geotechnical, topographical, and marine data into drawings.
Update drawings based on consultant feedback, RFI responses, and site modifications.
Maintain document control for all drawing revisions and submissions.
Assist project engineers with method statement illustrations and technical presentations.
Liaise with subcontractors to ensure drawings match actual execution methods.
Support in preparing utility diversion drawings and coordinate with relevant authorities when existing services are affected.
Conduct occasional site visits to verify measurements, confirm as-built conditions, and resolve on-site drawing discrepancies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma/Bachelor's in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
3-5 years drafting experience in UAE construction projects, preferably marine, piling, or infrastructure works.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Civil 3D/Revit is an advantage.
Familiarity with Dubai authority standards (Trakhees, DDA, DM) and submission protocols.
Ability to read and prepare structural, architectural, and MEP drawings.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
Good communication skills to coordinate with engineers, consultants, and site staff.
