Job Title:

Civil / Architectural Draftsman

Job Summary:

The Civil / Architectural Draftsman will translate architectural and engineering designs into accurate technical drawings and construction documents. The role requires close coordination with architects, engineers, and site teams to ensure compliance with UAE building codes, project specifications, and company standards. The ideal candidate should have

at least five years' experience in Dubai or the GCC

, be proficient with relevant CAD / BIM tools, and capable of handling civil, structural, and architectural elements in drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce detailed architectural, civil, and structural CAD drawings (plans, elevations, sections) and shop drawings as needed. Use drafting tools like AutoCAD; experience with Revit, Civil 3D, and/or other BIM tools is a plus. Review and modify existing drawings based on feedback from architects, engineers, regulatory authorities, or client/site conditions. Ensure compliance with local building codes, municipal regulations (Dubai Municipality, etc.), and industry standards. Prepare technical documentation, as-built drawings, record of revisions, and maintain drawing archives. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architectural, structural, MEP, civil) to resolve design conflicts or technical issues. Conduct site visits to verify dimensions, existing conditions, site constraints, and to collect survey data if needed. Assist in preparation of material take-offs / BOQs, cost estimations, and ensure drawings are optimized for construction. Keep up to date with new drafting standards, technologies, software upgrades, and best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma, Degree, or equivalent in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, or related field. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Dubai or GCC, especially in contracting firms or architectural / engineering consultancies. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD. Experience with Revit, Civil 3D, BIM tools is highly desirable. Good knowledge of local building regulations, authority submission procedures, and quality standards in Dubai. Ability to interpret architectural, civil, and structural drawings. Understand construction methods, materials, detailing. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to spot and resolve discrepancies. Good communication skills (verbal & written) to liaise with consultants, project managers, site teams. Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred / Additional Skills:

Experience with authority submissions in Dubai (Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, etc.) Familiarity with interior fit-outs or specialised areas like facade documentation, landscaping, or infrastructure works. Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus. Portfolio of past projects showing drafting work, shop drawings, site coordination.
