Position Overview
ADNOC Drilling is seeking a skilled Downhole Tools Technician to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality preparation, inspection, and maintenance of downhole tools used in drilling, completion, and well intervention operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispatch downhole tools in accordance with job specifications, casing requirements, and operational plans
  • Verify tool certifications, prepare delivery notes, and ensure all equipment is properly tagged and stored to prevent environmental damage
  • Conduct detailed inspections including thread checks, magnetic particle inspection (MPI), pressure testing, gauging, and visual assessment
  • Redress tools using appropriate hand tools and C-Vice to ensure readiness for subsequent deployments
  • Maintain up-to-date inspection reports and Certificates of Conformance (CoC) for all tools, crossovers, and components
  • Ensure complete traceability by maintaining accurate tool history and service records
  • Perform preventive maintenance and confirm that all equipment is in optimal working condition before mobilization
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification prior to any operational task
  • Comply with ADNOC's Asset Integrity Management standards, HSE policies, and UAE regulatory requirements
  • Participate in continuous learning and skill development to handle complex cementing and tool maintenance operations
  • Support operational efficiency by assisting in the evaluation of equipment performance and recommending improvements
Ideal Profile
  • Secondary School Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in downhole tool inspection, redressing, and maintenance within oilfield operations
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, pressure testing, and safety procedures
  • Knowledge of ADNOC Drilling procedures and international maintenance standards preferred
  • Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Good communication and report-writing skills in English
