Summary:
As Technology Solution Architect in the Technology BU Technology Strategy and Architecture Department, your role is to be responsible to create viable, technically well qualified, operationally stable and architecturally fit and aligned solutions across wide variety of Digital Applications to serve objectives of Digital transformation projects.
As Solution Architect, you will be responsible for building the solutions and harvesting solution artefacts, update Architecture repository across the technology landscape.
You shall work effectively as part of Technology Architecture Team, to understand, complement, influence and guide the proposed solutions to achieve improved business outcomes and operations enhancements by continuously applying Architecture best practices and methodology.
You have in-depth understanding of Digital technologies domain for communications service provider (CSP) and digital service provider (DSP) business models, processes and operating environments, technology and application systems and software development and delivery methodologies.
You are an expert on Digital Experience & Engagement technology layer capabilities backed up by experience on delivering similar solutions in other projects. You have solid expertise and understanding of UX Journeys, UX frameworks, Technical orchestration frameworks using tools like Jboss-EAPM, Microservices ecosystem design patterns, Telco TMF API, Event Driven Architecture –especially CQRS, Fast Data Access enablement for underlying BSS legacy & COTS, enabling Bi-Modal Architecture to support two-speed or multi-speed operating environment.
You would work as team member of the Solution Architect team, in multi-cultural, agile and fast pace environment to deliver business results.
You are an experienced professional with strong communications, collaboration, negotiations and stakeholder management skills and able to demonstrate thought leadership for business and digital transformation.
Your experience working in Middle-East and understanding Middle-East/Qatar market is considered a plus.
Main responsibilities shall include:
Minimum Experience and Essential Knowledge
- Assess and qualify demands from various Business Units within Digital Business teams in terms of business outcomes and business benefits expected, improving the alignment of the Project requirements with overall business and technology strategies, roadmap, priorities, capabilities and resources
- Probe for information, listen to information, influence people, facilitate consensus building, synthesize and translate ideas into actionable key solution capabilities expected. Identify use or purpose, constraints, risks and participate in the discovery and documentation of the customer's business scenarios that are driving the solution
- Analyze and understand Business and Technology Strategies, Objectives and Requirements and translate them into actionable Solutions
- Define end-to-end solution Architect that is viable, technically well qualified, operationally stable and architecturally fit.
- Define and analyze various Solution designs, advise about solution approach ,appreciate pros and cons, Out of box Solution fitment
- Contribute in review and impact analysis of the current IT Applications (BSS/OSS) environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement, especially for alignment to architectural guidelines and long term strategies
- Own and detail Solution decisions based on standard decision models and maintain Solution decision register. Also responsible to socialize solution decisions with stakeholders.
- Communicate and present Solution details to business and technology stakeholders at various levels in the organization
- Ensure Architecture best practices and methodologies are applied for Solution design work and participate in solution governance exercise with Architecture board.
- Conduct and produce Impact Assessment and Feasibility, Cost/Benefit Analysis, Gap Assessments, and Solution Options, AS-IS and TO-BE Solution viewpoints, Solution Risk Assessment Reports etc. to support decision-making and solution implementations
- Identify Solution building blocks and outline Impacts, and Solutions in terms of People, Platforms and Processes. Create Scope of Work definitions for specific solution work packages to streamline, simplify and to seek efficiency and operational optimizations
- Build, Manage, Maintain Solution Artefacts, Competency and Capability within the Enterprise including but not limited to maintain up-to-date inputs to Architecture Repository
- Review Artefacts and Govern Implementation of Solutions, to ensure business and technology objectives are met, architecture best practices are applied and expected outcomes are achieved
- Work closely with other Architects and advise and align Solution Designers team to ensure compliance to Best Practices and Principle
- Support Program and Project management to plan and manage solution delivery including but not limited to business and technology stakeholders management and risk management
- Work closely with project and requirement & process management teams, technology and business stakeholders to align objectives and expectations, to plan for improvements or enhancements, to identify and mitigate risks and to build workable business models
- Oversee Digital Transformation project delivered by Vendor SI & internal teams, govern requirements gathered , processes outlined, review End-End Solution, track Requirements traceability matrix, ensure solution mapping is comprehensive and deliverables are aligned overall to meet Project objective. DevOps adoption & expansion of CI-CD footprint for SI rollout –experience will be desirable.
- Determine operational objectives by interacting with users and studying business functions; gathering information
- Manage and support to achieve traceability of requirements across the project lifecycle from initiator, architecture, to proposed solution and then further to design, build, test and deploy.
- Support Architects in Tendering processes, to enable Capability Building, Technology and Solution Selections
- Responsible for Implementation Governance in IT Projects in the areas related to IT Applications (Digital Domain – Channel & Engagement layer) to make sure that the projects are executed in exactly the same way as it was designed and produce the same output that was targeted
- Manage and Govern vendors, vendor contracts, vendor solutions and performance as part of Architecture Implementations
- Analyze current business processes, work methods, application functions , operations, assets and artefacts, propose improvements and as appropriate manage/monitor implementation to expected conclusion
Minimum Experience and Essential Knowledge
- Minimum 12 years of work experience of which minimum 10 years in the Technology Domain
- Minimum 5 years of qualified experience on the requested role of Technology Digital Solution Architect / Lead Subject Matter Expert for Solution Domain with proven track record demonstrating Solution leadership and ability to define and implement complex information technology and/or digital transformation initiatives within the Solution Design Domain
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in the Telecommunications Industry, demonstrating solid understanding of Digital & Ecommerce domain, DevOps, Telecom Business Models, Operating Environments and Applications across Technology, Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, Finance, Regulatory and Legal and Telecom BSS/OSS Information Technology and Software Systems
- Ability to demonstrate subject matter expert level expertise in the area of Solution Architecture & Design including but not limited to following areas:
- Solution Architecture and Analysis Practice
- Telecom and IT Operating Model and Processes and Applications
- Business and Information Systems Architecture and Design
- Cloud Solutions and Hybrid Integration
- Digital Solution Architecture and Technologies, at least some of which include:
- UX Frameworks – Agile channel enablement, Portal, Mobile App technologies, React, Javascript, Vue, Angular, Quarkus, Springboot, Content Mgmt solutions like Liferay
- Engagement Solutions – Pega, Adobe experience, Jboss EAP, BPM Frameworks, EDA- Confluence, Redhat AMQ, Streams, Kafka /Rabbit MQ, Identity Management & DB Technologies such as Mongo DB, Cassandra and Maria DB
- Container Platforms – Redhat Openshift
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, managerial, team work, negotiation, logical analysis, stakeholder and risk management skills
- Excellent oral and written communications in English is a must, Arabic is considered a plus
- Good understanding on Information Technology, IT Systems, IT Solution Design Practices to fluently liaise between Business and Technology and effectively carry out Solution Design related work
- Good working knowledge and past experience on Program/Project Management practices, Team Leading, Digital transformation projects, Legacy to Digital Channel & Engagement Migration, Microservices led Transformation, Vendor Management, Contract Management and Software Development Lifecycle including Design Thinking and Agile Practices and Methodologies
- Good working knowledge and preferably certifications of one or more relevant Frameworks, Standards, Models and Practices related to Telecom Industry and Role, not limited to TOGAF, ITIL, PMP/ PMI/PRINCE2, SIG SIGMA, COBIT, SCRUM, SDLC, TM Forum. IT Industrial Certifications or Post Graduation with specific focus on Practical deployments is considered a plus
- Ability to build capability on information systems design and lead teams to deliver results
- Ability to work well under pressure and to work both independently as well as with others
- Ability to work in dynamic and challenging environment and support to manage multiple parallel complex initiatives
- Ability to be structured, organized and have strong time-management skills with proven track record on delivering results
- Ability think out of the box, to Innovative and be creative thinker
- Cultural awareness and past experience working in Middle-East and/or in Qatar and understanding of Middle-East/Qatar market dynamics is considered a plus
