Job Purpose
The Document Controller is responsible for the effective management, control, and distribution of project documentation throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely access for all stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesDocument Control
Establish and maintain document control systems in line with project and company procedures
Register, track, distribute, and archive all project documentation (drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, reports, correspondence)
Ensure correct document numbering, version control, and revision status at all times
Maintain master document registers and transmittal logs
Project Support
Coordinate document flow between consultants, contractors, suppliers, and clients
Support project teams by ensuring timely availability of approved documents on site
Monitor document deadlines and follow up on outstanding submissions
Assist with handover documentation and project close-out records
Reporting & Communication
Produce regular document status reports for project teams
Communicate document control procedures clearly to internal and external stakeholders
Support audits and internal reviews when required
Required Skills & Experience Essential
Previous experience as a Document Controller within construction or engineering projects
Strong understanding of document control processes and workflows
