Position Overview
Document Control Officer in Abu Dhabi, UAE supports ADNOC Group operations by managing electronic and physical document control systems across large-scale Oil & Energy projects. This role ensures accurate filing, retrieval, archiving, and disposal of corporate records while maintaining compliance with company standards, EDMS workflows, and records management policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • File, maintain, and retrieve documents using integrated Electronic Document Management Systems and computerized filing workflows.
  • Support project sites by guiding document control staff on company systems, procedures, and document management standards.
  • Maintain inventory of inactive and closed-out documents, encode records, and coordinate archiving activities.
  • Arrange disposal of obsolete documents in accordance with approved company and RMS procedures.
  • Participate in developing and improving computerized records management procedures for efficient retrieval.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project teams, and administrative staff to ensure updated specifications and standards are properly maintained.
  • Liaise with consultants and contractors to manage document submissions and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC policies, HSE standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Provide input for management reports related to document control activities and system performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in document classification, retention schedules, and workflow efficiency.
Ideal Profile
  • Secondary School Certificate.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in administrative roles, including at least 2 years in a project environment within a large organization.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems and computerized filing systems.
  • Strong understanding of document classification and retention practices.
  • Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in computer operations and office applications.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
