Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is a luxurious beachside resort located on the west crescent of the iconic Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. The interior of the resort is inspired by the ancient palaces of Turkey and features hand-painted finishings, Turkish artworks and stunning murals inspired by the Golden Age of the Ottoman Empire. The resort offers 405 rooms and suites, 38 Royal Residences and the award-winning Talise Ottoman Spa, one of the largest and most luxurious spas in the Middle East. The resort offers Sinbad\'s Kids Club complete with splash park, nightlife destination Music Hall and a collection of eight diverse restaurants which offer a vibrant selection of culinary experiences. The resort also offers motorised and non-motorised water sports, complete with private jetty offering shuttle boat transfers to and from the main-land of Dubai.
About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen As Director - Wellness, Sports & Leisure to join the team at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
Ensure all tasks in the spa operations are completed to ensure a successful opening according to Jumeirah Brand Standards.
Ensure a new spa/wellness experience development to maintain innovation and originality.
Strategically direct the progress and performance of the business through sales and marketing.
Take ownership and responsibility for financial growth and development and controlled performance, in order to ensure sustainability.
Maximise profit through driving revenues and controlling costs within the wellness operation.
Direct the Talise Ottoman Spa team to achieve success where everyone contributes.
Complete written prescriptions for guests whenever possible and appropriate.
Respond to any changes in the hotel or spa as indicated by the industries.
Produce a detailed and objective monthly report in order to track all aspects of the business and colleagues\' performance.
Ensure that the colleagues participate in any scheduled training or development programs that may develop colleagues or improve departmental standards.
Ensure the correct scheduling of colleagues in order to maintain standards of service.
Assist in the building of an efficient team of employees by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety, training and development.
Provide management with creative ideas to project and enhance the image of the hotel and the wellness activations.
Ensure that colleagues strictly enforce all safety rules, emergency procedures and fire prevention regulations.
Monitor and analyse the products and services of competitive spas &sports and leisure, to maintain a competitive advantage.
Manage and assess the team performance and direct the team in achieving success.
Reviews guest feedback, JD Power, Mystery Shopper results and plan and implement corrective action if needed.
Oversees the retail outlets located in the hotel ensuring high delivery of standards to the guests.
Ensures that the spa & wellness team adheres to all hotel and company standards, Business conduct and ethics, policies and procedures including Health, Hygiene & Safety and maintains confidentiality for all guests and colleagues.
Perform any other duties that management may reasonably require.
Set and monitor KPIs for the spa &sports and leisure business, individual team members.
Monitor the spa business in regard to revenue management and effectively forecast business trends and revenue streams.
Develop wellness programs and menu from brand standard guidelines.
Recruit suitable wellness professionals to suit location and wellness programs.
Develop and implement marketing and sales plans for wellness services.
Source equipment for diagnostics and wellness services
Source appropriate retail items
Develop appropriate licensing and government approvals for services.
Ensure wellness professionals maintain current licenses and continued education.
Liaise with media for wellness articles and content.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Business Administration degree or equivalent.
Tertiary qualifications in leisure management or related fields.
Qualified in any alternative wellness, Sports and leisure practice with proven record.
2 to 5 years\' experience working in a 5-star hotel in a similar position.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume, with resort environment.
An admirable leader - showcasing passion, creativity, drive and commendable development skills
Good understanding of core resort operations.
Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Analytics.
