About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Sports & Leisure Manager to join our Sports & Leisure team at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
Supporting to set up the function and role during Pre-Opening phase
Working closely between the Hotel and our Residences to support any operational needs as per the job description
Conduct interviews with candidates to ensure quality hires
Training and supervising staff including drawing up staff rotas
Ensure that the Spa & Gym team members are appraised, consulted and developed for mutual benefit and continuous growth
Designing and promoting activities to meet customer demand and generate revenue
Writing monthly or weekly reports and preparing cash projections
Arranging for maintenance, repairs and cleaning of facility and equipment
Maintaining the Jumeirah high levels of customer service with the focus of avoiding the loss of existing members
Prioritizing target activities and user groups when planning the aerobics time-table
Delivering fitness training or coaching
Handling complaints and incidents
To manage stated areas ensuring a smooth and efficient operation
To actively promote and encourage participation of guests and club members in activities
To report to the Sports & Leisure Manager on a regular basis while also coordinating with the other hotel departments
About you:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Ideally Pre Opening experience, experience on setting up any related systems or structures in the role | department
Able to work with tight deadlines and under pressure due to intensive preopening phase
To have obtained and passed Personal Training Certification from reputable organization such as The American Council on Exercise (ACE) or similar
Good interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
Business acumen, creative thinking and problem-solving
Motivational skills, energy and resilience
Flexibility and multi-tasking skills
The ability to relate to the requirements of customers from all age groups and sectors of society, including people with special needs
