As part of its mission to be a global trade enabler, DP World offers importers, exporters and logistics companies access to Trade Finance solutions, to help them meet their working capital needs. To this end, DP World established a company within the DIFC, called DP World Financial Services Limited (DPWFS), regulated by the DFSA, and is engaged in arranging and providing financing solutions primarily to SMEs as well as the large corporates. DFWFS both operates DP World Trade Finance platform (Arranging Credit) connecting companies/borrowers with partnering Financial Institutions and directly provides trade finance loans to exporters, importers and logistics companies (Providing Credit). Given the growth of the business, we are looking to create a focused Structured Trade finance desk based in Dubai with a business model committed towards originating assets, with clear plan to hold upto risk appetite & down sell to target investors. This would free up our risk capital to help do more through fresh deployments. The desk is to lead and support such Trade originations across DPW target markets.
This will help with the following:

Ability to innovate and structure novel trade finance themes and build on the current offerings
Ability to originate larger sized structured trade deals across target markets
Ability to take higher risk on obligors where we are comfortable and create a bigger relationship impact to demand cross-sell business
Ability to significantly improve the Trade returns by freeing up capital for new deals thereby enhancing business ROE contributing to improved shareholder returns.

The role will report to VP - Commercial & serve as an additional product offering in the toolkit for clients.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Senior focused resource to Originate, Structure and Execute large, high quality sophisticated Trade finance opportunities from mid to large size corporates across our target / focus markets in the region and build a fee revenue stream along with a stable annuity book for the business. To work closely with the Origination team / In-country leads in the region to draw a strong pipeline of target corporates to build out a robust annuity trade finance book.
To ensure that origination of Trade is in line with internal credit policies, operations procedures, regulatory standards, approved client industry segments and meeting the commercial thresholds of the desk.
To leverage existing networks & to establish and maintain relationships with Commercial Banks, Insurance companies, ECA, Trade Credit Funds, Impact Funds (ADB etc.) for suitable risk participation / syndication/sell down of the loans originated.
To prepare suitable marketing memos / Deal term sheets / Transaction Teasers for the originated deals for a focused discussion with the target investors and seek their participation to help consummate the trade.
To ensure the syndicated / risk distributed transactions are structured, documented and executed with the Investors in satisfaction to the operational & risk framework agreed internally,
To ensure that the Sales and Origination teams are well versed with all product offerings through adequate behavioural / functional trainings to ensure the business origination is strong and deal success is widely replicated across markets.
Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World's Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World's Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience-

15+ years of experience in Trade Finance / Commercial Lending industry across product / coverage & transactor roles
Strong track record of delivering growth, revenue generation, and client management
In-depth knowledge of international trade finance products, including but not limited to export and import financing, inventory finance, structured trade finance, supply chain finance, and related financial services as well as associated risks
Strong product knowledge and proven track record in structuring and executing complex trade finance solutions
Strong business and credit acumen and ability to analyze data to drive strategic decisions
Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization and with clients.
Experience working closely with Credit, Risk, Operations, Compliance and Legal teams
Understanding of logistics and freight forwarding industry is a plus
Willingness to travel internationally as required.
