Are you a strategic risk leader who thrives on embedding robust frameworks and quantifying complex risks? CFA Institute is seeking a Director of Operational Risk Management to advance our global risk culture and control environment. In this pivotal role, you'll guide the design and daily operation of our operational-risk framework, drive incident response and control testing, and serve as a key advisor and deputy to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).
What You'll Do:Lead the design, implementation, and continual enhancement of CFA Institute's operational-risk and internal-control framework.
Identify and quantify risks across all business functions, using tools such as Monte Carlo simulations, scenario planning, and FAIR-based cyber risk models.
Drive control testing (SOX-light), incident tracking, and root-cause analysis through to remediation.
Build and manage dashboards, stress-testing models, and early-warning metrics to proactively surface and mitigate risk.
Design and run vendor-risk scoring mechanisms and fraud-risk reviews.
Oversee IT/cybersecurity, third-party, fraud, and quantitative-modelling risk disciplines.
Develop and deliver board-level risk reporting and represent ERM leadership across internal functions.
Champion a cross-functional risk culture by facilitating risk forums and coaching junior team members.
What You'll Bring:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated expertise in operational-risk frameworks, internal controls, and SOX-light testing.
Advanced knowledge of quantitative risk modelling including Monte Carlo simulations and FAIR-based cyber risk quantification.
Strong grasp of IT/cyber, vendor, and fraud-risk disciplines, with experience in incident management and root-cause analysis.
Fluency in accounting fundamentals, particularly revenue accounting.
Proven ability to interpret and implement policy and drive risk initiatives across diverse business areas.
Preferred Qualifications:Professional risk designation such as IRM.
Experience working in a multinational organization with a global/multicultural risk lens.
Prior leadership experience in presenting risk strategy and appetite to executive teams or boards.
Track record of building and launching ERM tools such as vendor-risk platforms, early-warning dashboards, and control libraries.
