Associate Vice President WBG Business Operational Risk Management, Treasury and Products serves as a representative of the Wholesale Banking Business within the first line of defence, supporting the WBG BORM for Treasury & Products. Ensuring the implementation of robust compliance control mechanisms within WBG through consistent monitoring of processes, procedures, and communications.
Collaborating with various stakeholders to align controls with policies, product program guidelines, and internal standards, ensuring they remain effective in a dynamic business environment.
Overseeing the successful management and completion of the Treasury & Products Risk and Control Self-Assessment.
Actively support WBG BORM in first-line defense, ensuring protection against AML, sanctions, fraud, and operational risks.
Identify and assess risks linked to WBG products, implementing controls for compliance with regulations, policies, and best practices.
Assist in managing Business Operational Risk Council (BORC) meetings and tracking WBG risk metrics.
Maintain dialogue with OR and Compliance teams to ensure WBG teams stay informed of policy changes, audits, and regulatory reviews.
Support the completion of Treasury & Products Risk and Control Self-Assessment, ensuring oversight of key departmental risks.
Recommend improvements to procedures, manage SLAs, and oversee risk-related metrics for Treasury & Products.
Ensure timely submission of regulatory and internal reports, including MIR/QIR packs, OELM, and past-due annotations.
Promptly escalate fraud incidents, track non-standard practices, and assess operational risks to minimize losses.
Assist in developing AML, KYC, and fraud awareness programs, fostering a strong compliance culture within WBG.
Review contingency plans and work on process improvements to strengthen operational risk management.
Collaborate across departments to enhance transparency, share insights, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
University degree or equivalent qualification
Minimum of 10-12 years experience in banking or financial services specifically managing Treasury & Products related risk, with a focus on 1st Line of Defense.
Relevant experience in business, operational risk, operations, business analysis or project management
Knowledge of Treasury, Products related processes and systems.
