Key Responsibilities * Perform any other tasks related to the nature of the department's work as assigned by the Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education and Research Governance.
  • Manage the organizational units under the department, monitor their performance, prepare reports to avoid duplication of objectives and tasks, and implement internal plans to foster team-building and continuous learning for high-quality work.
  • Prepare the department's proposed strategic and operational plans, develop performance indicators, and ensure their achievement.
  • Coordinate programs aimed at enhancing students' employability skills in partnership with higher education institutions, including personal, technical, and professional skills.
  • Coordinate with the Information and Data Analysis Department, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Human Resources to create a system to track graduates in the labor market.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments in the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization to provide internships and create job opportunities for graduates.
  • Coordinate with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, various sectors, and relevant authorities to establish mechanisms and initiatives to enhance graduate employability.
  • Participate in developing policies for workforce preparation in guidance programs at higher education institutions to meet program requirements, in coordination with relevant authorities.
  • Align programs with labor market needs and national strategies in coordination with relevant authorities.
  • Monitor and follow up on higher education institutions' programs for employment support and student career guidance services.
  • Analyze and report on graduates' employability, identify gaps and main challenges, and develop and update a labor market partnership action plan across different sectors.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between educational institutions, higher education institutions, and national employment programs.
  • Develop a network of government and private sector partners and collaborate with them to transfer knowledge to higher education institutions and update programs according to labor market expectations in the country.
  • Strengthen relationships with external partners to establish strategic partnerships, motivate internal partners, and manage change to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor labor market collaboration programs, prepare reports for organizational units, and use results to improve and develop new projects, initiatives, and policies.
  • Submit recommendations to the Department of Academic Policies, Planning, and Lifelong Learning on updating higher education policies or proposing new policies to support graduate employment.
  • Lead, guide, review, and approve work procedures, methodologies, performance indicators, and quality standards for department operations, and propose improvements.
  • Monitor guidance program policies by linking them with licensing and regulatory standards and provide support to ensure implementation in coordination with ministry units and relevant authorities.
  • Monitor administrative operations such as planning, budgeting, reporting, and service delivery, and evaluate and improve them.
  • Develop programs and initiatives in coordination with the Ministry of Education to encourage Emirati students to pursue disciplines required by the labor market.
