Director of Communication, Media and Public Relations

Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Communication, Media and Public Relations to lead our organization's internal and external communications, media relations, public affairs, and digital presence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in institutional communication within humanitarian, community service, or government-related sectors, with proven ability to shape public perception, manage key stakeholder relationships, and enhance organizational visibility across the Arab region and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communication & Planning

• Design, implement, and oversee the organization's integrated communication strategy to support corporate business goals, events, projects, and humanitarian initiatives.
• Develop annual communication plans, messaging frameworks, and campaigns aligned with the organization's mission and values.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust as necessary.

Media Relations & Press Coverage

• Lead all media relations activities, including press releases, media pitches, interviews, press conferences, and editorial opportunities.
• Serve as the primary spokesperson and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and international media.
• Secure positive press coverage for organizational projects, events, and humanitarian campaigns.

Content Development & Management

• Oversee the creation of high-quality, compelling content in both Arabic and English for various channels including press materials, speeches, websites, social media, newsletters, and annual reports.
• Ensure all content reflects the organization's corporate identity, voice, and strategic messaging.
• Supervise the digital content team to maintain consistent and engaging online presence.

Stakeholder & Partner Management

• Manage relationships with key partners, government entities, NGOs, media outlets, and community leaders.
• Represent the organization at high-level meetings, public events, and networking forums.

Event & Administrative Oversight

• Oversee communication aspects of events, including permits, contracts, branding, and promotional activities.
• Ensure compliance with UAE media, publicity, and regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the communications and PR team.
• Manage budgets, agency partnerships, and external consultants as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in institutional communication management, with a focus on humanitarian, community service, or government-related sectors.
• Deep understanding of government policy, programs, and protocols in the UAE and the broader Gulf region.
• Proven track record in designing and executing successful communication strategies, media campaigns, and public relations initiatives.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English (native or near-native proficiency required).
• Strong network of media contacts in the UAE and MENA region.
• Experience in managing digital content teams and aligning outputs with corporate identity.
• Experience in handling event-related permits, contracts, and logistics within the UAE is a plus.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations, or a related field.
