Job Description

Job Summary
  • The role holder will be responsible for supporting the AMEE (\xe2\x80\x9cAfrica, Middle East, Europe\xe2\x80\x9d) Regional Head of Wealth Management Lending and Mortgages in the development of the strategic agenda, digital journey, and the P/L management of Mortgage products across AMEE Region.
Responsibilities

Product Management & Business
  • Conceptualize and introduce new and disruptive product and solutions on an ongoing basis after assessing market potential, customer needs and competitive product range, in compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements. This entitles creating new business cases, writing Country Credit Addendums, PCA (Product Change Assessment) and PIR (Post-Implementation Review) papers when required.
  • Develop strategy roadmaps for the business in collaboration with sales, credit, and operation teams.
  • Work with Sales Team in driving Marketing Campaigns and developing Frontline tools where needed
  • Achieve portfolio growth and performance targets through management of key financial elements including Sales, Interest & Fee Incomes, Cost of Funds and other Costs, Attrition and Provisions.
  • Drive portfolio profitability through management of P&L constituents.
Processes
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and support with process change implementation
  • Drive Digital Investment Prioritisation Agenda for Mortgage Products across AME & UAE
  • Develop and implement appropriate rules and guidelines to ensure that all internal and external legal, compliance and risk management requirements are met
  • Review credit parameters and policies, provide feedback to management, suggest and initiate change as and when required to ensure products are competitive, and in line with changing market trends
  • Proactively reviews of policies, processes, and procedures in anticipation of changing market conditions to seize market opportunities and manage risk exposure within acceptable market standards.
People & Talent
  • Train Mortgage Advisors and Relationship Managers on Product Features available in-country and across the region
  • Support Frontline with addressing Mortgage Product Queries
Risk Management
  • Ensure adequate and appropriate systems and controls follow Group policies, procedures, standards and codes, including those governing all Risk types, Compliance, Technology and Operations and Finance to ensure:
  • Ensure effective implementation of Risk Management framework throughout the organisation
Governance
  • Embed the Group\xe2\x80\x99s values and code of conduct in the region to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture
  • Engage with all audit report findings in the countries and ensure feedback is acted upon
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • External providers such as mortgage brokers and real estate developers
Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders, including regulators and staff.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in CPBB business, credit, and product management
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with excellent eye for detail.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
