As a Surveyor on Development with Lloyds Register you will join a structured programme designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge to progress your early career.

The role
Conduct relevant activities as agreed in personal training plan with the aim of increasing knowledge and competency in the execution of survey and other related work
Assist manager in producing deliverables within projects and produce own training within agreed timescales and of appropriate quality
Understand all LR services and be able to discuss and present the deliverable with the internal clients initially and later external clients and be able to suggest solutions where appropriate
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards
To pursue Initial Professional Development by developing, maintaining, and documenting both technical and non-technical knowledge to support achieving CEng status
To appreciate the time and value of the work to be undertaken for an external client by understanding and assisting with quotes and survey fee calculations
To give guidance to other employees, as appropriate, and disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application
To assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal / external client feedback as appropriate
Ensure Marine Training Records are kept and that the appropriate authorisations are gained in accordance with your development plan
Undertake routine administration as required in line with current processes and procedures
What you bring
A bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized institution within a relevant field such as Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Technical/ Practical Experience in the field (maximum 3 years)
The ability to use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology
To be able to apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate and maintain engineering products, processes, systems and services
To be a good team player with the ability to take own initiative to meet business and personal objectives
Fluency in the English language, both written and spoken, with ability to communicate effectively internally and externally. Any other language capability would be an advantage.
