Job Summary:

You will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, purchasing, and selling diamonds in raw or polished form. The role involves market analysis, negotiation, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and buyers, both locally and internationally. We and You are ensuring compliance with legal and ethical trading standards, including the Kimberley Process. We do have all necessary Certificates and Licenses, including Kimberly System participation, officially certified by the Diamond Board of South Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

Source rough or polished diamonds from trusted suppliers, auctions, or mines. Including our own Sources and Mines in South Africa. Evaluate diamonds based on the 4Cs (Carat, Cut, Clarity and Colour) and other quality metrics. Analyse market trends to determine the best time to buy or sell inventory. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of diamond pricing, grading systems, and certifications (e.g., GIA, IGI). Negotiate purchase and sales contracts with suppliers and buyers. Develop and maintain relationships with wholesalers, retailers, jewellery designers, and manufacturers. Ensure all trading activities comply with local and international laws and ethical sourcing standards (e.g., the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme). Travel to trade shows, auctions, and mines when required. Maintain accurate records of transactions, inventory, and pricing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience in diamond trading, gemmology, or the jewellery industry. In-depth knowledge of diamond grading and valuation. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. High attention to detail and accuracy in evaluating diamonds. Excellent communication skills for international trading. Familiarity with legal regulations and ethical practices in the diamond trade. Bachelor's degree in Gemmology, Business, or a related field (optional but preferred). Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., inventory systems, trading platforms).
