What Does a Design Manager Do in a Real Estate Company?
As Design Manager at Azizi, you will lead and coordinate internal and external teams to ensure the timely and quality delivery of architectural designs for luxury mixed-use developments. Your leadership will be essential in aligning creative vision with practical implementation, ensuring compliance with authority regulations and the company's high standards.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary design teams including architecture, MEP, interiors, and external consultants
- Oversee the full design lifecycle-from concept to construction documentation and authority submissions
- Review and approve design packages to ensure compliance with project scope, timelines, and local authority requirements
- Prepare design briefs, risk mitigation plans, dashboards, and regular progress reports
- Manage design QA/QC processes, technical reviews, and coordination with other departments such as procurement and marketing
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize design delivery and resource utilization
- Act as the primary liaison for external stakeholders and sub-consultants during design delivery
- Collaborate with sales, project, and executive leadership to align design with business goals and branding standards
What Skills Are Needed for a Design Manager in Dubai?
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture is mandatory
- 12-15 years of architectural design management experience within the UAE real estate sector
- Proven track record working on high-rise, luxury residential, and mixed-use projects
- Strong working relationship with Dubai authorities and understanding of submission protocols
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Revit BIM is required for managing coordinated design packages
- Familiarity with project planning tools, QA/QC frameworks, and contract design documentation
- Ability to create and manage dashboards, RFPs, and resource schedules
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership, delegation, and team-building capabilities
- Detail-oriented with analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills
