Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented

Design Manager

with a strong background in

aluminum and facade systems

to lead and oversee the design function for our facade projects across the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the entire design process--from concept development to detailed shop drawings--ensuring all deliverables meet technical, aesthetic, and project-specific requirements.

This role requires strong leadership, coordination skills, and in-depth knowledge of curtain wall systems, cladding, glazing, and structural facade engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the design team in the preparation of concept designs, detailed drawings, and shop drawings for aluminum and facade systems. Review and interpret architectural and structural drawings to develop accurate and feasible design solutions. Ensure all designs are compliant with local codes, project specifications, and industry standards. Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, architects, and internal teams to finalize design intent and resolve technical issues. Oversee the preparation of material submittals, mock-ups, and method statements. Manage the design approval process, including consultant submissions, revisions, and authority approvals. Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, and installation phases. Ensure design timelines are met in accordance with the overall project schedule. Monitor and control design changes, ensuring proper documentation and communication. Mentor and develop junior designers, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

Minimum 10-15 years of experience in facade design, with at least 5 years in a

design management role

within the

UAE

or GCC region. Extensive knowledge of

structural glazing

. Proficient in design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and facade engineering software like STAAD or SAP2000. Familiarity with relevant UAE building codes, standards, and authority approval processes. Strong project coordination, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and design teams under strict deadlines.
