Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient

Design Manager

to lead the design division of aluminum and facade systems within a prominent facade engineering firm in the UAE. This leadership role requires deep technical knowledge, creative problem-solving, and the ability to manage and deliver innovative facade solutions aligned with both

UAE regulations

and

international best practices

.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership & Management

Lead, mentor, and manage the in-house design team producing shop drawings, fabrication details, and engineering documentation. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and quality across the design department.

2. Design Development & Technical Oversight

Translate architectural and structural designs into practical, efficient, and aesthetically aligned facade systems. Ensure all design outputs are technically sound, value-engineered, and project-specific.

3. Client & Stakeholder Coordination

Interface directly with architects, consultants, main contractors, and clients to obtain timely design approvals. Represent the company in technical meetings and design reviews.

4. Regulatory Compliance & Standards

Ensure all designs comply with UAE building regulations, fire and safety codes, and international facade standards. Maintain awareness of updates to local authority requirements (Dubai Municipality, ADM, etc.).

5. Material Selection & Specification

Assess and select appropriate materials for facade applications based on performance, durability, cost, and visual appeal.

6. Value Engineering & Cost Optimization

Propose alternative materials or design methods to reduce construction cost while maintaining performance and quality.

7. Project & Documentation Control

Oversee the control of drawing revisions, document management, and versioning across all projects.

8. Resource & Workflow Management

Allocate resources effectively, ensuring timely delivery of design packages according to project timelines.

9. Pre-Construction Support

Assist the estimation and sales teams in preparing conceptual designs, technical submissions, and tender documentation.

10. Implementation & Site Support

Participate in site visits, mock-up reviews, and coordination meetings to ensure design integrity during execution.

Candidate Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field (required) Master's Degree or certification in Facade Engineering (preferred)

Experience:

8-10 years of relevant facade design experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity Demonstrated experience with major facade projects in the UAE, including approvals and authority coordination

Technical Expertise:

Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and preferably Tekla Structures or STAAD Pro Strong command over modern facade systems such as: Curtain Wall Systems Unitized & Stick Systems Spider Glazing Aluminum Composite Panels (ACP) Thermal Insulation & Cladding Systems
