detail-oriented and innovative Design Manager - Aluminum & Facade
to lead our design department in delivering high-performance, efficient, and aesthetically advanced facade solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in aluminum and facade system engineering, combined with proven experience in managing the entire design lifecycle -- from concept development to execution. This position requires close collaboration with project stakeholders and a strong commitment to quality, innovation, and timely delivery.
Lead the facade design team across multiple projects simultaneously.
Review, validate, and approve design proposals, drawings, and technical submissions.
Provide expert input on system selection, design feasibility, and constructability.
2. Coordination & Collaboration
Coordinate design requirements with architects, structural engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless system integration.
Attend design coordination meetings and ensure client/consultant expectations are met.
Offer continuous technical support to project and site execution teams.
3. Technical Documentation
Oversee the preparation of shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation layouts.
Ensure all designs comply with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
Standardize design documentation practices and maintain technical libraries.
4. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Research and implement innovative materials, facade systems, and sustainable design practices.
Drive initiatives aimed at improving design quality, process efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Keep up to date with industry trends, digital tools, and advanced engineering technologies.
5. Team Development
Mentor and coach junior designers and draftsmen to build technical capability and confidence.
Conduct internal design reviews, provide structured feedback, and promote technical learning.
Foster a creative, collaborative, and performance-oriented culture within the design team.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in
Architecture
,
Civil Engineering
, or
Mechanical Engineering
(Master's degree is an advantage).
10-15 years
of experience in aluminum and facade system design, with a minimum of
3 years in a leadership/managerial role
.
Proven experience on
high-rise
,
commercial
, or
landmark facade projects
in the GCC or international markets.
Proficient in
AutoCAD
,
Revit
,
Rhino
, or other 2D/3D design and modeling software.
Solid understanding of
structural mechanics
,
thermal performance
, and
material behavior
in facade applications.
Strong leadership, team management, and client communication skills.
