detail-oriented and innovative Design Manager - Aluminum & Facade
to lead our design department in delivering high-performance facade solutions. The ideal candidate will have robust technical expertise in aluminum and facade system engineering, with proven experience managing the full design cycle -- from concept through to execution. This role requires close coordination with project stakeholders and a strong commitment to quality, innovation, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Design Leadership & Management
Lead the facade design team across multiple concurrent projects.
Review, validate, and approve technical drawings and design submissions.
Offer expert guidance on system design, material selection, and constructability.
2.
Coordination & Collaboration
Coordinate with architects, consultants, structural engineers, and contractors to integrate facade systems within the architectural and structural frameworks.
Participate in design meetings, ensuring all client and consultant requirements are addressed.
Provide ongoing technical support to project execution teams.
3.
Technical Documentation
Supervise the preparation of shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation layouts.
Ensure design deliverables comply with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
Maintain design documentation standards, templates, and libraries of technical submittals.
4.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Research and implement new materials, systems, and design methodologies.
Lead initiatives to improve design quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Stay current with industry trends, facade engineering technologies, and sustainable design practices.
5.
Team Development
Mentor and support the development of junior designers and draftsmen.
Conduct design reviews, provide constructive feedback, and assess technical performance.
Foster a culture of creativity, technical excellence, and continuous learning within the design team.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in
Architecture
,
Civil Engineering
, or
Mechanical Engineering
(Master's degree is a plus).
10-15 years
of experience in facade and aluminum system design, including
at least 3 years in a managerial role
.
Proven track record of working on
high-rise, commercial, or landmark facade projects
.
Proficient in
AutoCAD
,
Revit
,
Rhino
, or other 3D modeling/design software.
Strong understanding of
structural principles
,
thermal performance
, and
material behavior
in facade systems.
Excellent leadership, project coordination, and communication skills.
