Our Client, an established Middle East consultancy, who strive to innovate and offer a rewarding and collaborative work environment, are seeking an Design Architect / Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be seconded into an established Developer to work in the Architecture & Design team focussing on mixed use developments.

Responsibility will predominantly focus on supporting the in-house design team and the consultants\' teams in delivering high quality design outcomes through effective functional planning, customer focused design solutions and enhancement of the Developer\'s brand. The Design Architect / Manager will support in creating the project vision, maintaining the design concept and safeguarding the design intent from concept to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support in creating the vision documents for all the projects together with the Development or Asset management teams. These documents will analyze and define the customer journey experience and propose design directions for the project.
• Assist the Architectural Design Director in building specific project briefs and scope of work; by producing competent Architectural planning solutions, with a strong understanding of the customer journey, target customer and designing stimulating spaces in accordance to the project brief, business objectives and Developer\'s standards
• Help in incorporating stakeholder requirements (e.g. Leasing, Development, operations) in the project brief while adhering to and maintaining the Developer\'s design standards.
• Produce conceptual, competent and functional architectural layouts, with a strong understanding of design principals for retail, shopping malls and mixed-use projects.
• Capable of conceptualizing visions and ideas that are unique, creative and first to market and take responsibility in developing them into a viable, feasible and functional drawings.
• Design and implement the basics of retail planning, mixed-use and residential masterplanning with a sound level of understanding of infrastructure, zoning, urban planning and public realm articulation within the fabric of mid to large scale planning exercises.
• Demonstrate good level of understanding of the customer journey and creating unique customer experiences, by designing stimulating, new to market concepts, for various typologies of retail, shopping malls, mixed-use, open spaces and public amenities in accordance with the project brief and Developer\'s standards.
• Assist in guiding the wider group of consultants in development of final design and ensure that project programmes and budgets are coordinated with Project Management.
• Produce high quality conceptual and architectural plans and masterplans through different mediums from hand sketches to 2D drawings and supplement with necessary imagery and documentation that are essential for high quality presentation packages.
• Manage the visualization team in producing good level of 3D imagery & renderings adopting the latest technology and softwares to assist in the production of design packages at a high quality for internal and external presentations.
• Assist in conducting periodic design review & provide recommendation on VEs that affect the design intent. Support in making design recommendations for specific issues as requested by Development & PM teams.
• Ensure adherence to the Developer\'s brand quality, acting as a design center of excellence.
• Codify specific design standards in a continually updated design standards document that is coordinated across all stakeholders.
• Ensure benchmarking of trends and innovation of project designs to the international market
• Ensure that the Architectural Design team use modern technological systems and processes and the staff are appropriately trained.
• Establish, drive and manage research on development planning and design of new development trends and concepts.
• Ensure compliance with the Developer\'s Code of Conduct, Departmental policies and HC Policies and Procedures at all times.
• Be the advocate and ambassador of aligning and cascading the Developer\'s values and ensure that relevant team adhered to and exhibit the same all the time.

Requirements

• Bachelor\'s degree in Architecture or equivalent.

• 10 - 15 years of work experience in retail planning design, commercial building design, residential, mixed-use and master-planning design with reputed companies in GCC or abroad.

• Experienced in the use of AutoCAD, Revit & BIM, SketchUp and other 3D visualization softwares, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office software.

• Must be a team player, confident, agile, flexible, forward thinker and innovative.

• Ability to work in productive and innovative manner as an innovator and enabler.
