Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for planning and controlling operational areas of the department including service delivery targets, service level agreements (SLAs), business continuity plans, quality and safety, working with Line Management to set the operation up for success. To ensure that escalated issues are followed up on and to ensure the continuity of the business in an optimum efficient manner, ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal and safety requirements and standard operating procedures.

Job Outline:
Plan
- Recommends improvements of systems, processes, procedures, standards and facilities ensuring their implementation and controls.
- Reviews department related SLAs and contracts to ensure that the changes are well- communicated to the concerned individuals.
- Ensure that standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions are aligned with regulatory requirements, training and department practice.
- Coordinates with training and development units on an on-going basis to ensure that staff is provided with the required training programs in line with their development plans and the availability of sufficient suitably qualified and experienced resources.
- Initiates / develops a monitoring and implementation structure for quality action teams and other projects within the assigned work area.
- Plans for adequate availability of resources at all times when required with outsource suppliers (where applicable).
Deploy
- Reviews and monitors deployment done by centralised allocation to ensure alignment with the plan on the day of operations with cost and quality targets and provides feedback in cases of disparity.
Lead
- Implements initiatives to synergise a safe, efficient and service oriented culture amongst the team.
Execute
- Ensures that safety briefings are conducted regularly while intervening when there is risk exposure, role model safe behaviours and follows up on corrective actions.
- Ensures compliance to all relevant safety policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude and the implementation of BAP.
- Ensures safety of staff and that they have the skills, knowledge, and confidence to work safely by providing support and direction.
- Provides the required information to department managers for the budget preparation and monitors the financial performance of the concerned area against budgets.
- Develops departmental related reports including recommendations, updates, improvements and status to ensure that related departments are updated.
- Follows up on operational issues, customer complaints and disruptions within the department and recommends the most appropriate action to be taken and follows up on implementation.
- Plans regular audit checks for the department to ensure that all the policies, procedures and SLAs are adhered to. Reports any non-conformance and discrepancies in the related area and ensures that the appropriate remedial actions are implemented in line with regulations and SLA.
- Builds and maintains the relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all requirements and compliance with regulatory, safety and legal requirements are met.
- Coordinates regularly with relevant departments to ensure that all equipment are serviced in a timely manner to ensure continuity of operation without disruption ( where applicable).
- Runs projects for the department ensuring that the expected deliverables are achieved within the planned time-frame.
Additional to Airside Operations:
- Assess and enhances technology used within airside (e.g. turnaround tools) to overcome any system shortfalls and align to changes in airline requirements.
- Coordinates with the workshop for GSE planned maintenance / maintenance and oversees the schedule and planning of the fleet.

- Experience in Airport Operations.
- Bachelor\'s degree or Diploma in business administration / aviation / ground handling / customer service.
- It is desirable to be a certified First-Aider or Fire-Warden.
Experience:
- If you hold a Bachelor Degree: 6-8 years of experience in aviation/ ground handling / customer service, if you hold a Diploma: 8-10 years of experience in aviation / ground handling / customer service.
- UAE driving license (for airside based roles).
- Preferably First Aid trained.
- Advanced understanding of airlines\' customer service product (specific airport related requirements) and Industry regulations for the assigned work area.
