About the role:

A role holder is responsible for predicting and estimating the future demand for business based on historical data, market trends, and other relevant factors for GMG central planning function for Sports and Healthcare with focus on all the channels (Retail, Ecom, Clearance and Omni). The main job responsibilities shall include:

Core Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing historical sales data: Analyzing sales data from past periods to identify patterns, trends, and seasonality in demand
  • History cleaning and outlier corrections: Review and tune outlier corrections and set up to cater to business requirement and improve forecasts
  • Monitoring market trends: Keeping track of changes in the market, including changes in customer behavior, competition, and other external factors that may impact demand.
  • Collaborating with different departments: Working closely with other departments such as catgegory, marketing, and finance to understand their needs and objectives and adjust forecasting models accordingly.
  • Develop and tune forecasting models: Using statistical and mathematical techniques to tune forecasting models that predict future demand for Style colors
  • S&OP implementation: Creation and implementation of S&OP cycles (factoring in sales trend, promotions, holiday events)
  • Forecasting levels: Creating and executing the weekly forecasts in IBP (planning tool) at category level for merchandise financial planning and at style color level for assortment planning
  • Validating forecast accuracy: Evaluating the accuracy of forecasts and adjusting models as needed to improve accuracy and reliability.
  • Providing insights: Sharing insights and recommendations with management and other stakeholders based on forecasting data and analysis.
  • Developing contingency plans: Identifying potential risks and developing contingency plans to mitigate these risks.
  • Reporting: Providing regular reports to management and other stakeholders on demand forecasts, accuracy, and other key metrics.
About the requirements:
  • 2-3 years in developing and tuning forecasting models
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in statistics, mathematics, business, operations
  • Experience in analyzing market trends & seasonality in the business
  • Must have worked in either Retail, FMCG or Ecommerce
  • Experience in using excel, ERPs (SAP, Oracle), IBP tool
  • Must have experience in managing multiple stakeholders
