Job Description
School of Modern Skills (SMS), is currently seeking energetic, enthusiastic, and dedicated personnel for the Dean of Student position. The purpose of the role is to oversee the various aspects of student\xe2\x80\x99s life and welfare within the school. The duties will include providing support for students, addressing student behavior and coordinating admissions and new student orientation. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and a deep commitment to supporting students\' personal and academic success. Dean of Student responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to students, addressing their academic, personal, and social needs.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to provide comprehensive support services, such as counseling, health services, and accessibility accommodations.
- Promote student engagement, attendance and involvement in the school.
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives to enhance students\' personal, social, and leadership skills. Organize workshops, seminars, and orientations on topics such as time management, study skills, career planning, and personal development.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including disciplinary and attendance records, and other relevant documents. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in student affairs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive campus culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Develop initiatives and policies to ensure a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all students.
- Stay current with research, trends, and best practices in student affairs and leadership.
- Develop and implement crisis management protocols to respond effectively to emergencies, student crises, or critical incidents.
- Serve as a representative of the institution in various internal and external settings.
- Attend meetings, committees, and events to contribute to school decision-making, policy development, and advocacy for student-related matters.
- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Psychology/Social Work;
- At least two years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working at a school in UAE;
- Good command of English and Arabic;
- Good listening and interpersonal skills.
